Democracy in Action – A Nonpartisan Coalition

Democracy In Action

Democracy in Action unites the National Civil Rights Museum, the Shelby County Voter Alliance, and community partners across Memphis in a shared push to expand voter participation among historically underrepresented voters. Through canvassing, phone and text banking, civic education, and trusted-messenger outreach, these partners are building a unified, nonpartisan campaign that runs through Election Day.

Partner Events & Activations

Democracy in Action is part of a larger community effort. Throughout the campaign, Democracy in Action partners will host events and activities in neighborhoods, faith communities, schools, college campuses, and other community spaces.

    Engage with neighborhood-based voter outreach, canvassing, and community conversations designed to help residents understand what’s on the ballot and make a plan to vote.

    Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope

    Faith communities will host voter registration efforts, postcard-writing parties, and other civic engagement activities through congregations and community networks.

    Stand for Children Tennessee

    Connect civic participation with the issues affecting children, families, schools, and communities, with opportunities to engage voters and encourage participation.

    The Museum will serve as a central hub for Democracy in Action, bringing partners and community members together for voter information, civic engagement, and opportunities to get involved.
