A Legacy Preserved: The National Civil Rights Museum Collections
The National Civil Rights Museum wasn’t always a collecting institution. But public interest in sharing unique artifacts sparked a new mission in 1992: to preserve, educate, and exhibit. Now, our collection actively seeks objects that tell the stories of American Civil Rights history, African American history, and culture. This ensures these powerful pieces are safeguarded for generations to come.

Artifact Donations and Loans
The museum appreciates generous donations and loans of archival materials, books, photographs, clothing/textiles, audio/visual items, fine art and historic objects.
