Trick or Vote
Saturday, October 31 | 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Free | National Civil Rights Museum
Costumes, candy, music, and a voting plan: Bring the whole family to the National Civil Rights Museum for a Halloween night with a purpose. Kids trick-or-treat. Adults leave ready to vote, and vote like your life depends on it!
What to Expect
For the kids:
- Trick-or-treating at the Museum
- Children’s activities
- Candy and giveaways for every guest
For the whole family:
- A DJ keeping the energy up
- Food truck
- Giveaways and voter resources for every guest
For the grown-ups:
- Partner volunteers on hand to help you confirm your registration status and polling place
- A walk-through of what to know and expect when you vote
- Voter resources to take home
Dress Up With a Story
Come in costume as a civil rights hero or someone who fought for the right to vote, and share the story behind your look. Costumes can start a conversation with your kids about the people who made their vote possible.
Why It Matters
Halloween comes only days before Election Day, and this is a chance to get ready. Families can have a good time and still leave with what they need to vote. In Tennessee, a little planning makes a big difference. Know your polling place, know your ID requirements, and know your rights.
“On Halloween, we want families to have fun and leave with a plan and encouraged to vote.” — Veda Ajamu, Chief Engagement Officer, National Civil Rights Museum
